There are several other transport related organisations that hold meetings in Edinburgh periodically. A few are listed below with a summary of their specific interests and a link to their website for information about forthcoming meetings. It should be noted that since the Covid-19 Pandemic of 2022/21 some groups have still not restarted face-to-face meetings but use Zoom for on-line talks.

The Light Rail Transit Association is a not–for–profit UK based organisation and has members throughout the world. Free of any trade or political affiliation; it is the world’s leading organisation concerned with the achievement of better public transport through light rail, tramway and metro systems in towns and cities worldwide. The Railway Correspondence and Travel Society is Britain’s leading organisation for people interested in all aspects of railways past, present and future and is highly regarded by both professional railway people and enthusiasts, a position it has held since its formation in 1928.
